Phil first became a member of the Committee of Management in 1999–00.
He further contributed to the management of the Association, freely giving his time in other capacities:

Phil has contributed through a number of Committee roles, and has acted as Santa at the Christmas Party function. He has also contributed as Editor of Law 43. During the periods of his Presidency, the Association endured several upheavals and times of uncertainty. Phil led our Association through those troubled waters, and it is because of his leadership that the Association survived, and grew. Phil’s determination was unwavering during a time that could have seen the end of the Association.
The award of Life Membership acknowledges his involvement, contribution, valuable service and loyalty to our Association. He is a most worthy Life Member
