Welcome to the website of the Victorian Cricket Association (VCA) Umpires and Scorers Association.

We have a long and proud history of helping Umpires and Scorers, and we've been part of Victorian Cricket for almost 120 years. We commenced on the 19th November 1906 when District Cricket was formed in Melbourne, and to-date 120+ of our Members have gone on to umpire or score Test Cricket, International Limited Over Cricket, Sheffield Shield Cricket, One Day Domestic, Big Bash and other List A matches throughout Australia and overseas. Cricket Victoria also operates its 200 Club for Players, Umpires, Coaches and Scorers who have participated in aminimum of 200 matches of 1st XI District/Premier Cricket. Currently, 47 Victorian Umpires & Scorers belong to that prestigious CV200 Club.

Primarily, we are the Social Arm of the Umpires and Scorers of Victorian Premier Cricket, but membership is open to anyone from any Cricket Association, or anyone who wishes to further the interests of Cricket Umpires or Scorers. By browsing through this website, or joining the VCAUSA as a Member, you can associate with, mix with and learn from our Members.

Social Cricket
One of the feature events on the VCAUSA Calendar is the biennial Social Cricket match that we play against the South Australian Cricket Association Umpires and Scorers Association (SACUSA). This is played at Easter every 2 years, dating back to 1931, with the winner keeping bragging rights to the Crockett Shield. The shield is named after the legendary Umpire Bob Crockett, who umpired Test Cricket and umpired in both Victoria and South Australia.
The Event comprises several dinner functions over the Easter Weekend, and a family fun day on Easter Sunday. Whilst hotly contested, it is also a chance to renew lifelong friendships (or make new friends) with our colleagues in South Australia.
As we lead into each Easter Cricket Event, we schedule Social Cricket Matches during the Cricket Season. These matches are our chance to keep the competitive juices flowing, and allow us to get out from officiating to actually playing the game we love.
Contact anyone on the Committee to find our more about our Social Cricket matches.
